No there's not a line, in this weather I don't think that'd be a good idea, and it'd likely be chaotic. These patients are attending hospital anyway for follow-up, so since they are here they are being vaccinated.

I run a specialty clinic for a type of cancer, so it isn't specific for vaccination. However, patients >80 yrs who were attending in person were identified as eligible for the vaccine. They have attended elsewhere in the hospital

I work here and was in clinic this morning. We had three eligible patients. One consented to it and is having the vaccine now. The other two declined. Not making a point, just a data point.

Does anyone think this story might be fake? How cold would the cargo compartment be on a long haul flight? Did he speak French?

Nicely phrased, agree. Ethics is key.

No, same here. I tried to recreate some covid rate graphs in python. The ggplot code did facetting and fitted a LOESS to the data. Nothing ground breaking, but it really hit the limits of what seaborn was able to do, and I wasn't ab

Just to point out that VW group have quite a complex financial structure designed to prevent a buy-out. They were quite worried about this in the 90s, so it's mostly owned by Porsche AG (not the car company).

Have you tried something like uMatrix? If you use it in the denylisting mode, it doesn't seem to impact much on my web browsing experience. By default it is in allowlist mode, which means it's speedy to open pages, but you run i

That's frustrating. It's also very variable how different email clients deal with signing. My work outlook will flag it with a sort of rosette, whereas Gmail doesn't mark it in any obvious way.

I suspect people who grow up in (basically) a socialist country like Germany, France, Scandinavia etc will have far less impetus to 'get rich'. If you feel secure in being able to maintain an income where you can enjoy both the ba

Yes it's not clear is it? And I suspect that it probably isn't clear in the author's mind either.

I get the problems with email encryption, but what do people think of email signing? It's a shame it's so hard to do, but I always thought it'd be a good protection against phishing.

The article has explained to me nicely why I seem to get disorientated switching from my native mutt to Gmail webmail. I'd also noticed this threading issue in outlook when two emails without subject lines were threaded together.

Something article points out, which always blows my mind when I think about it, is that B cells (along with T cells and a recently-discovered neurological cell) are one of only three types of cells which can edit their own DNA. Which is a

What do you think this means for people who don't like Apple's business model? I don't want to be left behind on outdated hardware just because I'm a Linux user.

I commented about this in the other thread, but the real evil is that the printer works as an IOT device that will order more ink at an even more premium price than official ink from a shop. You can buy your own ink, but then you'll e
