This makes zero sense. A gallon of gas is about $4.00, the idea that someone would spend all that gas money to avoid a tax of 1.75 cents/oz just doesn't pass the sniff test.

Speech is an action. Saying someone got fired for their actions (which were primarily speech, not physical actions) is the same thing as firing someone for their speech. And I don't really care about the Dixie Chicks, they were right,

There are a lot of people that think this is cancel culture. Bobby Kotick is likely going to be "cancelled"/fired from Activision if their board has any sense in the next few days. Was he cancelled, or did his past behavior f

You are not entitled to a platform. The student body choosing who they want to listen to is, in and of itself, a form of speech. Why is this such a difficult concept for people to understand?

People choosing to no longer listen to you because you have ideas that are currently considered reprehensible to the larger society is not being cancelled. That's called consequences for my actions. You are not entitled to consequence

It's not meant to be literal. We all understand basic biology. The reason some of us say "we are pregnant" is because it demonstrates that both people are invested in the pregnancy.

It takes close to a year to re-tool a factory for a different auto model. The suggestion to just produce an older model just doesn't make sense in time or money.

Your problem isn't monorepo, it's bad tooling. Tests should only execute against code that changed. Builds should only build the thing you want to build, not the whole repository.

Having had used both, Google's implementation is IMO the superior version of monorepo. Really, Google's Engineering Systems are just better than anything that I have ever used anywhere else.
