If anyone else is looking for more information on this, like I was, this stack is called the “return stack buffer”.

This is what I’ve struggled with when trying to learn erlang/elixir/gleam: If I go all in, then modelling as actors makes sense. The domain model is modelled as in-memory actors, using erlang features for persistence and what not.

That sounds like a good middle ground. Ahh I wish I had some more time, I’d love to benchmark all three and see how they compare. In my own you VM, I do actually have a spare general purpose registers available for use. Now I just need to

I've been playing around with this and its worth noting that pre-decoding the bytecode because it means every instruction (without operands) is the width of a pointer (8 bytes on x86) which means you fit far fewer instructions into cac

None of the items listed there have been ticked off in the time since the ticket was opened, not even the “create v3 branch” one. Mike also has had plans for v3 for at least the last decade too. So, I’m sure it’ll get worked on when he can,

I believe I was actually trying to use that. It’s been a few years so my memory is hazy, but isn’t Fargate just a special case of ECS where they handle the host machines for you? In any case, the problem wasn’t so much ECS or Fargate, beyon

I know it’s minor in comparison, but I will never use AWS again after running up a $100 bill trying to get an app deployed to ECS. There was an error (on my side) preventing the service from starting up, but cloud waatch only had logs about

Most frontend frameworks come with usable templates. Setting up a new Vite React project and getting to a formatted hello world can be done in half an hour tops.

Well… we can’t save people from themselves. It’s always prudent to ensure the libraries you use are high quality, stable, and well maintained and your list is a good order of reference to live by, in any language.

The fact that it not only doesn’t have a built in build tool/package manager, but that the author has also said he doesn’t believe in them and will never make one was very off putting to me. I love how languages like Rust have cargo, o
