I lived in a house where one of my housemates was also into couchsurfing and for a few month in summer and early autumn 2008, we were very active hosts. One weekend while there was a CS event on in my city, we hosted 12 people at once. In

I remember the early days of Skype and Google talk, calling random strangers and… actually having a conversation with them. I remember they were always confused and surprised to get a random call from a stranger, but were almost always happ

True. But someone at the top will benefit. Either it’s the companies that can produce more of something that the end user can’t easily replicate themselves for whatever reason, or at least the LLM providers. What I mean is, it will create v

Never going to happen. More efficiency and automation won’t lead to more free time and money for the masses, it will lead to fewer people employed, and those that are will be working the same hours for the same money but outputting more. On

Funny you say that -- my month renews in a few days and in that time I used ~350 messages. But yesterday I went through 200 messages with burn mode. So, yeah, I get it now! It very much depends on what I'm doing. Normally, I give it th

Yeah, I’m impressed with it too. Sure there are things that can still be improved, especially the tab completion, but I’m very happy with how well agent mode works over all! As an aside: $11 for an hour of Claude 4 seems expensive? I’ve bee

Yeah, it took me a few weeks to wean off cursor but I’m now happily using Zed exclusively. Cursors tab predictions are still a bit better and snappier but I feel like Zed is a better editor experience over all and I don’t rely on AI anyway.

I stopped using Cursor once Zed released their agent mode. Cursor consistently leaks memory for me even with all extensions removed, Zed is much lighter weight and in my personal opinion just a better editor. Also, Trae being $10 for more r

You can set up tasks to run cmake for you: https://zed.dev/docs/tasks Personally, I just use the terminal for my build tools and Zed talks to clangd just fine for autocomplete etc.

I strongly believe it also applies to the AI itself. If the AI wrote the code to the top of its ability, it doesn’t have the capability to debug said code, because its ability to detect and correct issues has already been factored in. You e
