A few points; .25% seems low but; a) How close is you hourly rate to what you would get normally? b) Are you learning tech that will set you up to make big money? c) Are you gaining insight about the industry that will set you up to be a co

We have been using codeship for about 4 - 5 months and we are really happy with it. The guys do a nice job. Moreover, they spin up DB instances that can handle our integration tests. It really has been a time saver -- not having to maint

I really love the direction UI/UX is going in, more and more based on science. There is already good amount of work done in the human factors and ergonomics area -- I would love to see this knowledge applied to web and mobile apps.

I agree. I know people posted a comment saying its fixed in 2.11 but if Scala wants to be production ready language it shouldn't take 10 years to address this.

Yeah that would be something. It really looks in the style of Goolge Music probably heavy with HTML5 and css. Doesn't look like there is flash.

Yeah we ran into this problem... Scala and the whole ecosystem can get annoying. In the real world, outside of the academic bubble that Scala lives in, database tables are over 22 columns.

Today, HN has been full of stories that make me sad about being a software guy. Maybe the only way is to work in early stage startups, moving on after the managers roll in and your day is full of meetings about new reorganization.
