This is all true, but removing the broker fees and replacing it with a rent hike is still better for the market overall, since the broker fees simply artificially dampen liquidity. You only paid them when you moved into a new place, but tha

Very hot take but this result made me believe that BQP and P might be equivalent computational classes (in other words, quantum computers might not offer any computational complexity speedups at all). I found out about this result in colleg

how do prompt it to make it guess about the API for a library? I'm confused how you would structure that in a useful way.

This is all true, but it's definitely not the full story. I'm addicted to HN despite it not being engineered for engagement. (though _technically_ it has taken investor money hahaha)

I think that what sets this type of apart is its position as a response to the fatigue people feel from social media in its current form. I don't think something like this would have resonated as much when social media was in its infan

The author keeps referring to the font as ugly, but I really enjoy it. The variety of signage I've seen it on (national parks, placards, industrial applications and schematics) evoke a sense of awe in me.

Why does the border of the sun look so poorly antialiased in all of these? Are they doing some sort of postprocessing that would cause that?

My pet crackpot theory is that within the next 100 years semaglutide is going to be in the drinking water (much like fluoride) because the benefit to society is going to be too hard to pass up on. However, it seems that it's delivered

How is Wealth of Nations surprising for a modern reader? My (perhaps incorrect) intuition is that these sorts of old foundational books tend not to be too surprising because their ideas have permeated society already, which is why I’m curio

Perhaps I'm misguided, but I don't see how this is bad for Sam Altman. If anything, it's probably a small win.
