Yep, it's why I said at the start I'd imagine the default setup in Fedora with GNOME probably works fine.

Couldn't agree more, but what's the fun in tinkering if you can't kill some time doing it?

I think the real answer is buy a laptop that just works and don't bother with Apple devices. However it's nice to be able to re-purpose old hardware, even if it's a bit of a hill to climb :)

Author here. Post is a bit rambling but I just wanted to document somewhere the things I encountered along the way with links to resources, to save someone having to trawl the web for it next time.

I honestly could not care less about statistics of the redesign, although user numbers would be interesting The new design is an absolute train wreck, it loads in slowly, feels like you're constantly running through treacle to do anyt

Few reasons, it's been 9 years since the last crewed spacecraft took off from American soil. Second reason is this is the first time the spacecraft has been built and run by a commercial company (spacex)

I installed Fedora on my Macbook Pro 2015 a few weeks ago to try it out, mainly because of one killer app - the i3 window manager. It's been a blast, albeit not without some frustrations. The good - WiFi worked out of the box - i3 is a

On a similar note, my blog is hosted on github pages. Due to laziness and inertia I've kinda just left it there as it just works, but the lack of control makes me uneasy. So at some point I want to move it, hosted by myself (with CDN)

Been an avid beancount'er for about two years now too! I've never used the import features, the manual inputting of transactions into a text file doesn't take too long.

I miss forums too, I really like reddit for finding interesting stuff, but the community aspect isn’t there so much. Back in the late 90s early 00s I was a member of a forum for a chain of video game stores in the UK, it was an amazing comm

A bit disappointing the 32GB ram option is only available on the £1,799 model (which, when added, bumps the price to £2,199) Interestingly on that model the RAM is running at a higher speed (3733MHz LPDDR4X vs. 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory) I'
