This is true if your application is running on a shared servers - however if you have fully isolated application and database deploys then you really do benefit from a security and scalability perspective- and by being able to run closer to

I don't see the issue - you're asking it to support a feature of one database on another, something it never claims to do. You need to use the same database for testing that you use in production.

Which you can only use compile time - not dynamically. That said I recall the sqlalchemy orm reject fields that it did not recognize. A decent IDE (pycharm) will hilight these for you on the Django orm. Having now used both the Django or

Makes sense - are you aware of the https://www.pine64.org/pinebook/ (99 USD) project? They have units that are shipping and are open source friendly/more hackable and can run chromeOS as well.

While its not in YC - there are a few SAAS type security startups aimed at SME's - such as https://intruder.io/ who I am a very happy customer of. This to me looks to be high growth.

I think the key distinction there is - you'd ship the games, and never change them again. What the tests do is let you continually evolve the software over a long period of time. What you need tests for is to give you confidence that

I would argue thats an issue with your architecture at that point - you may want to use table partitioning at sizes that big, or have some other mechanism in place to be able to lock access while updating such large data sets in one go.

This - you really want the best of both worlds. Use an ORM that lets you mix raw sql in where needed, or generate it directly - sqlalchemy.org is a great example of being able to mix and match as needed using the same core library.
