Owning a fleet is mostly a problem when they are laying around depreciating without being used. Higher capacity factor of self-driving cars will make the economics a lot better. The main issue would be if one player owns the self-driving IP

What makes you think they are even trying to make a profit? Uber has investors willing to throw billions at them to spend on growth, why wouldn’t they take it?

Facebook’s mistake was making an enemy of the media by demoting their status in the news feed. This has led to many reporters and their friends being put out of a job. Now everyone thinks Facebook is public enemy #1 for selling ads when oth

Do you believe you are being force-fed thoughts any time you hear or read anything anyone else expresses? Seems to be just as much the case whether on not that expression is part of an ad. I personally have a pretty strong desire for agency

I’m not saying it’s ok, just trying to answer the question. California is a place people love to live that’s been glorified by the media for decades, and is the seat of power of the ascendant tech industry. Of course people are going to bas

Why don’t you take the money from the dividends and spend it on Netflix shares? If Tim Cook went and spent all that cash on some company you don’t like, wouldn’t you be mad? If there’s one company Apple shareholders can agree is a good idea

It’s good for investors that the company can provide a sure return. If they don’t want to sell in/after a buyback, they can enjoy their more concentrated ownership. The investors can use the cash value of this increased equity to inves

A power-hungry CEO would rather hold on to the cash and use it to build a bigger empire. But it’s often in the best interest of shareholders to return cash via a dividend or buyback (buyback is preferred for tax reasons). It’s good that the
