re: backups, their other product "proxmox backup server" integrates really well with the backup system they have in place. It can be run in a container on the proxmox host itself.

I was looking at a proxmox/(pfsense/opnsense) tutorial the other day. They recommend binding the WAN interface to vmbr1 (or anything other than vmbr0) since VMs are created with their ethernet bridged to vmbr0 by default. This con

They might be qemu but proxmox does not use libvirt or similar. You won't see VMs created using anything else in the proxmox interface. (This is a simplification. They have a lot of custom things other than not using libvirt.)

Is there a specific way to test that or just nslookup/dig/drill and look at the number there? I want to check this and get back to you.

It had a visual overhaul a few years ago. Not something drastic but it was a very positive improvement.

I know it's not the same thing but I am quite happy with opensuse tumbleweed and snapper snapshots. It won't save you from something that also breaks grub but for most everything else it'll be fine. I've only needed to r

I use nextcloud contacts. I did try a few things before it but nothing worked as well as nextcloud. I couple this with Davdroid on Android. It can be set as the default address and calendar source. Highly recommend davdroid.

It's just a specific case where Discord refused to comply with a second subpoena from a particular Korean company. The article's title makes it sound like a general thing.

I don't need a GUI but an official config format or a manager tool for restic would be cool. There ARE a few good 3rd party ones of course.

Brave might be an option. They have their own ad blocking functionality and the full ublock origin (if that team keeps updating it for chromium) will keep working. People say they have done shady things in the past but the browser is open s

Ubuntu Tumbleweed with Snapper gives you btrfs based snapshots integrated into grub. I think this is the better solution for most users since nix is not the most straight forward distro to use.
