I'm thinking mostly on a scenario where browsers could have a competition of existing languages (C, C++, Java, Lua, etc).

Such a sad day for an industry! In a slightly different turn of events, web software ecosystem perhaps could be different from the pile of hacks on top of hacks it is now.

May I recommend looking into Flutter? I'm sure you've heard of it, but not sure people realize how mature it is and sick its internal design is, which allows writing native beautiful UI apps for iOS/Android/Desktop and

HTML is a typesetting engine. It's not a "UI language" and never has been. I don't know why would anyone think it's a good choice to do UI apps. The fact we use it on a web is a historical accident and causes a lot

So much this. I use Anki for more than a decade, and every single time there is a touch of frustration that Anki UX stuck in mid-2000. Another super annoying feature is that historically Anki is free except iOS – somehow mentality of "

While I completely understand your thinking, it makes me sad — web tech stack is the worst solution for UI apps one can imagine, and yet we have no choice but use it to reach more users and decrease distribution of our apps. I recently star

Programming is not about coding or knowing technical intricacies. It’s a two step process: 1) understand the universe 2) explain it to the three years old Coding comes as a part of the second step, but domain knowledge is crucial f
