I agree with this article. I'm using vanilla Rails 8 with all the defaults and it's easy, fast, simple to use.

Ruby Central is a company that manages rubygems.org and rubygems. The maintainers who were locked out were being paid by Ruby Central while fundraising for their startup creating a competitor. Doesn't it seem like a bit of a security

Everyone with a Hey.com email gets a world.hey.com account linked to your email. So yes it's a personal blog. Hey.com is 37Signals' Gmail, not the company's private domain.

Well, rubygems (the software) can pull from any git repository. So we kind of have it already anyway.

Unity has been pulling all sorts of shady things around their pricing and Unreal is getting press for being incredibly slow. I don't think this is good for anyone. Steam is an example of competition; without them MS (and even Sony/

People on the ground at many of these protests are saying that enough people are celebrating the attack. In London they were attacking the police. What % need to support the attack before it's a problem?

Maybe. But X11 was an unmaintainable mess that was mostly abandoned by its own devs so we get what we get.

I'm also on Omarchy. I use it somewhat like a scrollable compositor, in that I open a max of 2 windows, then move on to the next desktop, then just scroll through them all. But have the option for floating windows or a vertical split

It was a reply to the comment. My original comment merely stated the fact and that I use something else. I'm saying vague promises are worthless, not the service if you do 100% FOSS.

Are you being intentionally obtuse? Yes, lawsuits are how contract disputes are settled. "The law is on your side" means a court will side with you in case of a lawsuit.

It's not. If the terms of use unambiguously allow it, the law is on your side no matter what the host tries.

How much they tolerate private projects and the specific rule you link is so vague it's worthless. I want 100% certainty that if my side project makes money they're not going to come after me for breaking terms. Anything less is

Ruby's fine. They survived a group of activists trying to cancel Matz a few years ago as well. Btw, on X, Matz is re-posting DHH's comments on CoCs and Japanese articles that are pro-DHH. American activists != Ruby community.
