Most of the interesting things happening in the Ruby space other than Rails are Japanese... Mruby for example (embeddable Ruby). It's used a bunch by Japanese game studios in place of say, Lua, but it's nearly impossible to find

Linux has been good for years. The only thing that's changed is that Valve put a bunch of effort into Proton so now Linux has enough game titles for that to no longer be an excuse to not switch. I've been using Linux full-time

Of all the real commercial apps written in Odin, few are games. JangaFX tools for example definitely involve graphics (like games), but they aren't games. And what exactly is a "video game" language? A language that's

Nearly every Wayland compositor is built on wlroots. Somehow they manage. But yeah, of course it's going to change more than X11, which is older than I am and more or less abandoned...

I said build on top of wlroots, not DWL. And I only brought it up as an example of a small Wayland compositor/window manager because the poster I was replying to wants to build their own anyway. DWL is more interesting as a learning

Personally I don't care about speed for this category of language. I just bring it up because Python is one of the most used languages, is even slower, yet that's never held against it. Just seems like a lazy way to dismiss Ruby

You should google the definition of credible since it seems you don't know it... (Hint, it doesn't mean 100% true) It really boils down to: do you trust a brutal communist dictatorship that has been attacking the West asymmetrical
