IMO the complexity of k8s tends to be overstated. Of course its a vast and complex system, but its also incredibly well documented and based on simple design principles. The reason people have such a hard time with it is - - deploying k8s o

this may work well for teams of 2-5, I simply don't see this working at all for any larger teams or any team with formal development processes. The whole idea of merges/PRs etc is to be able to formalize this stuff, track it, keep

Precisely. DDP is also based on WebSockets and does essentially the same thing - server side computation, client side optimistic UI updates, caching etc. As with any stateful solution it has problems scaling. I'm not sure LiveView is t

Gnome already is based on html/js. There is no need for 10 different UI toolkits if one standard can be optimized. The problem is html/js are far from well designed but due to their popularity a lot of time and money has been spen

Electron's value prop is running the same code as your website, and also being able to use latest features from Chromium, Node and JS for unified development. Neutralino uses MSHTML and WebKit so its already outdated, and it won't

You're right. Although being a Linux user I'm pretty sure you know your way around a terminal and are the equivalent of a power user. Chromebooks are targeted at people who find even Windows too complex.

Crostini is still an esoteric dev only feature. No user is going to use it, or even be aware. When they need to run any apps or work with files, they don't have any options. Why can't ChromeOS be a standard Linux distro which runs

Windows file management and UI is far superior to anything out there. Its a little ironic that NTFS isn't faster than ext3 (in fact its slower for many use cases) but Explorer is amazing - Finder is a joke and most Linux fm's are

Its not worse. Not anymore. And arguably better in many desktop areas. But LOTD is not any easier for your average non techie. And it was never about ease of use, its about adoption, presence and marketing.

Its always the same complaints about Electron's size/runtime. Try to build a desktop app using a native language/UI framework of your choice (C#/Java/C++ with whatever fancy UI libs you want) which will even come cl

What Python needs is a better lambda syntax similar to JS and true anonymous multiline functions. Defining and using lambdas in Python feels very unpythonic, this is something JS gets perfectly. Also fix the GIL.

I wonder what the performance differences are with their approach vs using K8s + service mesh of your choice which includes all this. I imagine Google runs a bigger scale operation on top of Borg and their internal service mesh.
