This makes sense, if someone isn't using your service for a month, chances are good that they are going to cancel soon. Maybe they'll keep on paying for another few months, but if they're not using it, they're not gettin

Interesting idea, any reason for the number - 10. And what happens when many people answer or does it stop once the first person answers? ps. Well done on building something and launching it!

Nice, I like the clean look of the timer! I had no idea something like radial UI was a thing. Is it used on round displays or just as something unique/quirky?

Saw on the new Raspberry Pi post [1] that they are recommending this company to offset the carbon cost of producing a Raspberry Pi. [1] - https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/16gb-raspberry-pi-5-on-sale...

I love this kind of thing! Now all I need to do is hold my finger on the down arrow and keep watching for a *little* while to see every V4 UUID.

This looks like it might have been one of them? https://ginkgovest.com/ . *edit* seems different - google search led me astray. I didn't realize ginkgo is a tree with a distinctive leave

Well done shipping your project! I like the low-friction demo on the page! I assume I'll receive an email in a few days from now? Are you using those emails for marketing/a mailing list?

I'd love something that can support uncertain timelines - I maintain a list of space events that I'm interested in, but I haven't yet figured out how to do the dates.

Well done launching! I had a quick look at the example site linked in the footer and I like it. I've spent way too much time messing around with layouts for image galleries with different aspect ratio photos. Looks like you're usi

My takeaway from this is that there was a community of people willing to collectively pay 100k EUR and I'd say that was the biggest contributor to it's success - a large group of people seeing the value of the shared good. I don&#

Nice app, I really like the idea! Let me know if you need help getting the Android app through the closed testing, happy to install and test!

In the right circumstances that sounds like fun - a mini escape room before you can visit your friend :)

Pranking is a legitimate concern. What do you reckon the worst case scenario to be and what do you reckon are reasonable pranks?

I agree, I've missed this feature myself. I wonder if the QR could be your away doorbell, "Gone fishing, leave a message"

Reading through the comments I realize the subheading on the site is not sending the right message: > Replace your doorbell with a QR code The purpose of the app is to create a doorbell for instances/contexts where there isn't

That would be cool - the QR could also be a RFID tag. But like you mention, that would also be more advanced

100% agree with explaining before asking permission. I'll have a look at using the `capture` attribute on an input. My initial idea was to do video over webRTC, but the selfie version works okay for a first version

Thanks for the suggestion! I understood "app clips" to be like notifications, but sounds like they are worth looking into.

Good point, I'm hoping that this increases access rather than decrease it. In my neighborhood there are plenty of homes without doorbells.

That is a valid point. The visitor does not need to install the app, but it's still more complicated than pushing a button. From the owner's perspective I imagine it's at least a little bit simpler to install an app and put u

Agreed, if you're into hacking your own doorbell, there are a lot of really cool examples online of projects people have done. I'm considering setting up an ESP to integrate my old bell's chime with the QR code.

I have a few ideas about this, One thing I've found useful so far is that the notification sound is different from my phone/message chime, so when I hear it I know it's someone at the door. I'm curious to hear what other
