The point being made is that those features have been removed from 8 and not from 7. > The problem is that they are actively removing excellent features from 7. ... is a little ambiguous in reply to a comment saying they will stay on 7.

The headline is unfairly phrased clickbait. Something like "Microsoft support engineers not publicly seen to follow up report of missing browser choice question in Windows 7 SP1" would be more honest; and probably lead to less ad revenue.

I think the computers at least appear dated now as they set trends of the time. The iMac in particular has seen PC clone manufacturers pumping out superficially similar designs with each revamp.
