In the video, he shows that comments too can be voted up and down (not just search results), so bad comments will quite quickly disappear.

How about a workspace without set hours. You have a task to complete by a certain deadline. Do it or risk being fired. This will add overhead by always keeping everyone on track with specific tasks, but it's definitely worth it (think Scrum

I don't understand the surprised face. Would you (post author) rather pay $599 with a 2-year contract or $199 with a 2-year contact? Do the math.

Voted up to start a trend. IE8 beta 2 is going public this August for christ's sake (aimed at general public, not developers)! I can't endure this IE6 crap for too much longer.

Totally agreed. I've been planning to make the move back to Pittsburgh and can't find anything remotely interesting and 'startup'-like (looking for a front-end engineering position). I think AlphaLabs is doing a great thing and I will defin

Don't be just a programmer. Be part designer, part manager, part innovator and always suggest big ideas. I think finding people who are masters of all trades (or important ones anyways), is more important than just finding rockstar programm

Pretty much in the same shoes as you. 2007 grad. 1 year in a big web company and looking for a change, so good timing on the post :)

Pretty awesome. Product is well designed too, but $300? I'd rather get a 2nd battery. 2 batteries should be enough for any flight.

Y! handles more traffic than Facebook and Digg combined and it uses primarily PHP. Why compare Y!'s stock performance to their underlying technology? Makes no sense.

No.. Y! actually didn't do much better than same time last year (2007 Q1). It only seems so large because of their one-time sale of Alibaba stock. The actual profits from normal business were a tad-bit less than that of last year. Basically
