The Steam Deck OLED is absolutely fantastic. But yeah I'm almost at that point too. Windows is abysmal.

Why is this so hard to believe? This is proof that simple software can scale very well. Your takeaway, IMO, should be that a lot of solutions are over-engineered relative to the businesses they serve. Not every company handles Slack's

I don't think that necessarily applies. Over time movie stars tend to become their own products and movies sell because of their involvement. I just don't see the same thing happening with animators aside from the most prestigious

This is a false equivalence because there are a limited set of NBA players. Sure lots of people play basketball, but NBA players have gotten to that upper echelon for a variety of reasons such as training, genetics, perseverance, etc. It&#x

Your kids will remember whether you were a good, supportive parent or not. They may reflect on your career as adults, but that's a fleeting thought and you'll already be very old by then.

Anecdotal, but I think this is just the case with all projects of this nature. People on Windows don't like not being able to use stuff. The same thing was happening with Bun, and yet I've met lots of Windows developers who hate J

This is a great point. So my parents were well-intentioned but were immensely restrictive in all areas of my life. I can't imagine just how much worse it'd be with the monitoring and restriction tools that are available nowadays.

The 4090, although definitely overpriced, is one of the most impressive cards I've ever used. It handles almost every game I have at 4k120fps with little to no issues. It's by far the best card I've ever owned. I think the mi

Interestingly I recently saw an MQ broker written in Java and it seemed to have some pretty impressive performance. I'm not a huge fan of Java's DX but I have to admit, that's some serious performance. Can't remember the

I always wondered if Go would be a good language to make a game in due to its concept of goroutines. Maybe one of these days I’ll give it a shot.

I understand that some parts of the Node.js API does not use promises. I'm saying that promises are ubiquitous in Node.js codebases. The original comment said that promises are "not really" used in Node.js codebases. This is
