It's really unfortunate. I'm currently trying to figure out something in a Makefile and a lot of the answers are on StackOverflow.

Two HDMI cables plugged into the CalDigit port, which goes into a USB-C port in my MacBook. I also have an ethernet cable plugged into it as well.

Funnily enough, this has existed in React through a Babel plugin. I'm not sure why this hasn't really caught on. https://github.com/AlexGilleran/jsx-control-statements

This pattern is fine, but I would make this a component. function ConditionalComponent(props: Props) { if (!props.condition) return null return <UnderlyingComponent {...props} /> }

Sure, when you're neatly using booleans with names that are three characters long, this is super easy to parse. Now throw in long functions with multiple arguments, and all kinds of different access patterns and this ternary starts to

Using a CalDigit right now to power two monitors on an M1 Macbook Pro. It doesn't go above 60hz (my monitors are 165hz) but I'm still happy with it. Has an ethernet port too, which is great.

There's also Project Zomboid. Which doesn't really come close to Minecraft, but it's also developed in Java with a Lua engine on top. Why? Well, I have absolutely no clue...

I kind of have to agree here. There are very few times I've ever worked on a SPA and felt like throwing it all away and using the alternative. The last time I thought about this, which admittedly was many years ago, the alternatives th

I haven't used Vue in a really long time. Last time I used it, Evan You had just shipped Vue 2.0. Using Vue was honestly a fantastic experience, and a great stepping stone to get off of Angular 1.x. I really enjoyed its approach to dat

I'm surprised to see so many negative opinions about React. Surely, I can't be the only one that truly likes React and finds myself being extremely productive and making impressive apps with it.

This article is a bit long-winded. I don't reason about React at all like the author of this blogpost. Using React with hooks is dead simple, and getting a React app running takes minutes.

I highly disagree here. Within seconds I can have all the technology I want running in a Docker container with little to no setup. Just make a docker-compose.yml file with the services I want, say Postgres and Redis, mount my local folder t

Linux as a desktop workstation is not better. Not even close. It's a barely working mess, and a majority of applications don't work on it. And good luck doing any kind of game development on it using something like Unity or Unreal

I'm surprised anyone reading this story wouldn't conclude that the real takeaway is to just not engage with cryptocurrency at all. This ecosystem is so convoluted it just turns me off at every level.

It's interesting that Facebook has created another queuing system with priority rules. I believe beanstalkd originated as a result of Facebook's use cases. Seems like a really cool piece of tech.
