Interesting. I've had a theory that Tailwind appeals to full-stack developers more than dedicated web front end developers. If you have to jump from context to context a lot, adding one new context (separate CSS), is an actual burden.

I guess I've never seen the problem with switching files. I have two tabs open and use cmd-shift-] and cmd-shift-[ to flip back and forth quickly. There's no friction at all. The benefits of keeping the concerns separate outweighs

Ah, I see. I was working on the web portion of a system that was meant to encompass web, mobile, and smart TV devices, and was very custom. The designers would not have even considered using off-the-shelf Tailwind values, and the mobile tea

Absolutely, I would love to see a longer write up! I’m definitely in the CSS Modules camp, but with so many people saying that Tailwind is great, I feel like there has to be something there. I want to do a deep dive into it at some point an

Exactly. This post is extremely unconvincing. The vast majority of the post is explaining the background of what CSS Modules is, what CSS-in-JS is, what Tailwind is... Then then "Implementation Strategy" section is three whole par

I think your generalizations are very wrong. Ketamine may be bad when abused, but when used correctly for depression, it can be extremely effective and good. It changed my life greatly, for the better. And I wouldn’t say that psilocybin is

Oh wow. Thanks for pointing this out. I had no idea this was happening. I've wanted it for forever, but I thought browser vendors had always shut down talk with "just don't style native controls" dogma. Good to see it ch

There’s a pattern I’ve seen in a lot of class components that doesn’t fit as well in a functional component: every time the component needs to render some new bit of JSX, create renderThing(), renderOtherThing(), etc, ad infinitum. These ju

I gotta admit, I like the open core model. When it's done right, it seems like a reasonable way to monetize while still getting development done and encouraging a community and ecosystem. I've been looking at how Ghost[0] set thin

Oh, that integration does changes things. I admit that I did forget about the built-in cloud storage, but that was more cumbersome than email for me. And plugging in a USB cable seemed particularly low-tech for 2021.

My initial reaction to this was to think, “heresy!” SB has been amazing for developing components in isolation and setting up a design system. Then I thought it over. Yeah, the great thing is implementing a design system and developing comp
