   I think more along the lines of having a partner in a healthy relationship requires some time put forth, which unless the partner is pair programming, time is not being spent on development efforts.

    We actively maintain multiple SOAP servers so an OEM can connect as a client, and send us data. The OEM required us to stand-up the servers so they could send us the data. We also still use FTP for some vendors (we host).

    I think of it like listen to your users, but don’t do everything they ask. Use your judgement to make sure it aligns with your goals, and hopefully you have a goal beyond ‘make monies’.

    Have you looked for inspiration in Red5 or Wowza? I had used Wowza to take multiple rtsp streams (from cctv cameras) and properly stream to multiple clients (Flash h.264 player and iOS streaming).

    Same, I can often identify actors on tv shows or movies by their voice, some of which is 20 to 30 years older or later than when I originally heard the voice.
