Huh, you think the equator is better for datacenters? I've never heard that. I mean, there's a reason Luleå is a popular datacenter spot: access to hydro & wind- but also "free cooling"; datacenters create a lot of h

Email as a technology is insanely crufty. It feels somewhat hacked together (because, largely, it is); and there are significantly more bots than people using it (which is somewhat self-fulfilling). But when I read the leaked/disclosed

Thanks for the benchmarks! I’d only add that its very common for gaming computers to be screaming fast- moreso than workstation machines or servers which are a bit more conservative with performance and emphasise correctness (slower cores,

Location has always been a huge factor in these discussions. There are usually significantly less opportunities outside of hubs. It’s a cart/horse problem- because companies go to those hubs to hire due the talent pool.

Thats the issue with CPI, it tells a skewed story because it makes presumptions about volumes of things people buy. If Eggs go up 0% and Rent goes up 50%, CPI indicates a “25% growth” which is stupid.

I've been making this argument for a long time, and it's never popular. People want to believe in E2EE, it's almost like religion at this point. Protecting people is synonymous with E2EE, even if you cant verify it, and it

Yeah MacOS is better with Battery life compared to Linux. But, compared to W11? I guess it depends a lot. My Precision 5520 got an extra hour of battery on the 9cell varient. Thats about a 20% uplift from W11; but thats an old Xeon laptop n
