Not only that, but there's a multiprocess Queue class as well that is a drop in replacement for the threaded one. So if you are having problems with GIL contention (unlikely, but possible), you can still just as easily use multiple process

Maybe you're not the target audience then? This seems to be targeted at a relatively specific group of people.

Can you restart the uwsgi instance(s) without restarting nginx? That's a pretty significant benefit of gunicorn...

I have yet to hear of a formal education which will teach REST, APIs, payment gateways, metrics tracking, and performance optimizations. The only way to acquire these (and many other skills) is experience.

As I recall, numerous developers and security experts tore through the relevant code there, and they didn't find anything.

I think it's really only missing Debian and Ubuntu to cover the "big distributions", so while "majority" might be a strong word, it does seem to have about half of them. There also seems to be a bug report for it on Debian: http://bugs.deb

$40 a month for the high end. That said, $40 a month is far from free. To put it into perspective that's about what Github charges for 20 private repositories ;)

Companies are always resistant to change. IE7 and IE8 are still prevalent in medium to large corporations. So I think the answer is yes.

Just a heads up for those who use Vundle (and probably Pathogen, though I'm not familiar with it): I carelessly used the master branch instead of the 0.5 tag, and instructions for setting it up using master are VASTLY different from the 0.5

"(Rest of the) United States" and "(Rest of) Europe" seem too broad, since they have by far the largest numbers of votes :( There should probably be a separate poll for the US and Europe where regions within Europe and the US are differenti

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up, especially about snapshots. Signed up for the trial, and it looks like their auto-deploy script links are broken (support.serverdensity.com 502's). I'd like to see if there's a way to generate keys someho

I was curious about ServerDensity. Does anyone have experience with them? How easy is it to automate for deployment? Does it compare favorably with Munin and/or nagios?

Well, I'd say first and foremost, it's a matter of preference. For example, some people just can't stand yum, others love it. From a technical perspective, Fedora tends to be about 1/2 to 1 release ahead of Ubuntu, by which I mean the soft

Pip is an awesome tool for Python development and deployment. One of the great things is its ability to use version control commits and tags as packages, as well as tarballs, and PyPi.

There is support for ZFS on Linux at the kernel level [1]. I'm not sure how stable it is (something on my TODO list), but I believe it's actually more current than what's in FreeBSD. For jails on Linux there's jailkit [2]. I'm not sure if

A valid point, but I think you're getting stuck on the semantics of what he's saying and missing the point he's trying to make: you shouldn't stay stuck on one idea once it's clear it won't go anywhere, even if you're "ramen sustainable".

Makes sense to me, but do they have any/many corporate customers? I'd imagine the expense of maintaining a distro branch over time grows super-linearly.
