I would call memory in Rust manually managed, but automatically accounted. Vs C which would be both manually managed and accounted.

Citizen, Seiko, Casio all seem to offer a wide range of solar powered watches now. I wonder what the ranges are for energy collected by watches for various thermal, kinetic, and solar methods? I've had a Citizen EcoDrive (solar) for ov

For the longest time I used a script that basically unified my most common apt-get/apt-cache/dpkg commands into a single frontend, so it's about time.

Private companies/organizations could be started if it were just an insurance thing, but it's a little of both, and the food regulations are the difficult ones to avoid. That does take sustained lobbying.

Yes, I didn't intend my comment to mean there should be no ceasefires (or that there always should be ceasefires as a tool for peace for that matter). I think the article has the seed of some interesting data for analysis, but isn'

By definition don't ceasefires fail until the conflict is resolved on a long term basis (then in a sense the last ceasefire succeeds). It seems like a variation on the expression - "I always find it in the the last place I looked.

Increasingly, I tend to judge these systems from an availability of documentation for the core SoC. It means if there's a specific problem I can go digging into fix it myself, or that the open source community can dig into the support

My point is that it's not a technical problem. Some IoT devices have failed their "vehicle safety check". Now who has the authority to take them off the road? Who has the authority to ensure that their poor design isn't

The principle is no different, but the practice might differ significantly. With vehicle safety there's a reasonably common, agreed upon set of vehicle conditions which can be checked with a inspection; do your brake lights work, tires
