I thought it was pretty obvious that the reason why our last wave here in the Netherlands has dropped as quickly as it rose is that we first let go of too many restrictions too fast and then immediately reinstated the biggest ones. Basicall

Lack of hydration has also caused me light cramps. E.g: I was too excited about learning to surf to want go out of the water one summer. Plain water did the trick for me there.

Same here, have also tried that in the water, but didn't work that time. I get the feeling that some of the cramps people talk about here are worse though, or perhaps it's also about how much pain you can stand or how you react to

Have also made it back ashore when swimming by myself in the see after getting a pretty bad cramp in one of my calves. Lots of swearing as well, went into floating position on my back and tried to stretch it out to no avail. Finally just ki

Interesting I'd still go for Lit ( https://lit.dev/ ) though if you want something light weight and no/little build.

I'm really curious about the 3D video compression codec; besides this, imagine what that could mean for 3D VR streaming!

I would imagine you could quite efficiently encode a second view that's largely the same as the first You'd need more processing power, but not much more bandwidth that way. But the VR 180 videos I've seen so far just seem t

How unique are these ids really? I imagine certain apps will be very commonly installed as well as certain groups of apps? So it's not 32bits of information. Still more information to add to the finger printing pile.. I wish we could f

Yeah, I think the world would be better off without ads altogether. Just allow people to search for what they need or want by themselves, that's enough.

How does that make it reasonable to close and effectively keep medicine away from people unless they pay more than cost price? Of course if some countries can not produce it themselves they will buy it from other countries. Having an open r

You can hook up a canvas element to be a source for a video element. But that's not very useful to me.

Was also disappointed to find that browser picture in picture support was limited to a video element. Wish I could just use it on any element, like with fullscreen. I can imagine some complexity as explained. But for example it seems reason

If you try to derive which framework is used based on global variables then you'll miss the ones that don't pollute the global namespace like that but just use closures etc. E.g: most modern frameworks+toolkits like React+Webpack

Looks cool, but the generated QR codes link to qr.new instead of the domain I entered to link to. This is on iPad Safari. Is it required to register before this will work as expected? It's unclear to me.

I think the most significant factor in developer productivity usually isn't the specific language or framework used but the developer's experience with those. So yeah, use React if you're experienced in React.

Unfortunately tipping is becoming more and more common in the Netherlands. Seems to be blowing (back?) over from the States. I wish places would just charge higher prices and pay decent wages and keep things simple.

Supporting remote work can come at a cost to an employer so it does make some sense to me to offer less money in those cases and inversely, more money if you move to their town to work there. Other than that equal pay is more fair indeed. I
