Brady has a presentation about Idris where he shows Type-Driven development (where you write code that could typecheck with some holes and you get the compiler to help you figure out the missing types for your "whatever/something&

While I trust valve, I'm not willing to mess up with my workstation to play. Also, there's hardware cheats, so I don't need a rootkit on my machine, but a server side thing that properly weeds bad players out through reports&

Automatic transmission doesn't know your intention in 5s, so it consistently makes the wrong choice there if you intend to slow down or cruise until a red light.

I think it just shows how much noise there is in coding. Code gets reviewed anyways (although review quality was going down rapidly the more PMs where added to the team) Most of the code must be what could be snippets (opening files and han

Tried it again and it works! I'm guessing that maybe I forgot to restart the machine to make sure everything got to read it. Or that whatever was broken long ago got fixed. BTW, I can't reach my backup right now, but this seems li

Is ~/.XComposed picked up anymore? At least it wasn't early on, and I just gave up on keeping it around. I guess it's up to each Wayland compositor, which calls for inconsistency :/

I did not meant to start a pissing contest, I thought the biggest idea was that Flutter isn't 35yo and because of it, it's more likely to drastically change, and in a fast way too.

Have you tried using a compose key? I lost my custom mappings when switching from X to Wayland, but they work fine in both. I did lose my custom mappings though, but I only needed them when I was in emacs and obviously there's already

Seems to me that as projects mature they require less effort too. It's hard to account for that since Python started in 1989, it's older than Linux and it has a more narrow scope.

I don't think it's impossible to encode that, but yeah, it means that the straightforward approach meets immediate edge cases that may render it broken.

It's not exactly democracy once you add weights penalising erroneous information and bad actors. Science kind of works this way, you have papers to support, and lack of rebuttal is sort of understood as general acceptance, new evidence

This, long ago a roomate got into Factorio and after figuring out the basics ended up admitting that it felt way too much like work. This has been my reason to stay out of Factorio even though plenty of people have recommended it to me. I d

The hack is to leave a USB hub that gets you power, ethernet and monitors from a single cable. It's not truly portable, but it's a nice setup for having a desk and carrying your laptop with you to meetings and home.
