Re: Number of bits per pair: TC, AG, CT and GA? I.e. composition (1 bit) and direction (1 bit)? Not sure, but that seems to be the most logical way.

There was an IBM display with ~3800x2560 22" a few years ago. Sadly, it was discontinued some years after being introduced. IIRC 2008 or 2009 some manufacturer wanted to make them again, with a roughly 10k$ price. Edit: That was the IBM T22

Apparently no support in IE8. Which means that I will probably use it anyway, just because it's that nice to deal with mentally.

Well, it does if you control the machine you're using. Or am I missing something?

Extensive proxying? MITM? There's no reason they wouldn't put their own root certificate onto the machines. For most work on Wall Street one probably doesn't even need to be connected to the internet.

Sounds like an extreme case of the Dunning-Kruger effect in combination with our good friend, the Impostor Syndrome. I'd say that you should seek external validation, i.e. make something and have it ripped apart on HN.

Someone calling you weekly and saying idiotic things? I wonder if anybody would pay for that, and, at the same time, whether that would be a sign of narcissism.

That's the neat thing about leaderless resistance. Although Anonymous is special, because typical leaderless resistance can only exist with very strict rules (see: ALF).

That's the interesting thing about facism: nearly everybody is in favor of it as long as it furthers their causes. Democracy really doesn't work any better than other forms of government, it just tends to keep the lunatics at bay, and even

You just called for the murder of an innocent. What exactly is wrong with you? Obligatory snark: Oh, look! An abused kissing the ass of his abuser!

Best I've heard of so far: Working without a fixed schedule. I can't concentrate for a full 8 hours; however, I can work at odd hours and still get things done.

Facebook probably counts somewhat. The Winklevii needed "just a programmer". Too bad the programmer didn't want to be "just a programmer".

HPNS is a problem beyond 500 feet when using conventional gas mixtures (Nitrox, Heliox, ...); however, there have been simulated dives to 3500 feet on Hydrox (Hydrogen/Oxygen), which seems to prevent HPNS (I can't seem to find anything more

How to breathe water which isn't actually water ... and not die I imagine this will be an extremely unpleasant experience. Humans don't like having any kind of fluid in their lungs. Safer deep diving is exciting.

I'm not sure whether this could carry someone. The spacecraft doesn't have to carry just the body, but also oxygen, heating systems, waste disposal, food, … Maybe you could fit someone inside, but that might just be the hardest mission ever

Ideal dating pool seems to be around age 32. I don't know how to optimize a function with an integral in R yet (unsurprising, just installed it 20 minutes ago), therefore I can't give a better answer. Now I want to learn R.

Should be a relatively good fit, with both languages having prototypal oo. I wonder how he would implement the metaprogramming parts of Io.
