Early Google did not close their tags, I think it was for the sake of payload size? That said, your linter is going to drive you crazy if you don't close tags, no?

It’s possible to have something like Express, take a look at Javalin. But Java problem is not the mechanics, it’s that the community doesn’t want nice things.

I have a fun experiment for OP, since you already walked the reverse engineering route. Why not download the most popular DAV libraries from various languages, Java, C++, PHP, etc. Regardless how ancient they are. And then have AI like Clau

Dumb question, where do you actually buy digital copy of music these days? Or find a big library of music that you can download.

Because big enough tech companies always shipped their org charts in their products.

Indeed. I don't understand why Hacker News is so dismissive about the coming of LLMs, maybe HN readers are going through 5 stages of grief? But LLM is certainly a game changer, I can see it delivering impact bigger than the internet it

You didn’t share the complete deal details but just from what you shared, it seems like the payout is not worth it for this big of an effort. What if you self publish yourself using Amazon toolings? Will the numbers be worse? At least you

Because no middle managers will get promoted for doing this. All large corporate structures are the same: What's the incentive for the mini warlords to expand their mini empire? Nothing else is worth doing (to them).

As someone who is not in the Java world, why does Java need a mocking library? Interface based polymorphism is not enough?

As an enhancement, it would be cool to be able to spread into multiple pages. 1 month per page, or 2 months per page, ..., 12 months per page. It's hard to write on such small boxes.

Exactly this. Word by word. Some of my OSS projects got popular accidentally and oh boy… pain in the butt for real. And for little benefits to myself. Hitting HN front page or r/programming was nice for my ego. But that’s about it.

I agree. As a simple exercise, look at all software tools that’s GUI only. They become a large walled garden unable to be penetrated by LLM. Tools that are mostly text or have text interfaces? Greatly improved by LLM. So all of those rich m

So… What we need is a globally distributed git seeders of all open source github content, then? Seems possible if every git client is also a torrent client.

The problem in big tech is that: Sending upstream patches to THAT team (that owns the original framework) is like pulling teeth. Those people have their own OKRs and promo desires. Often times, sending patches to OSS orgs are easier. So nat

I agree. And learning a typed language is significantly easier now that AI can explain everything. The types also help AI to write a correct code. A very positive feedback loop.

When you look at how capable Claude is, vs the salary of even a fresh graduate, combined with how expensive your time is… Even the maximum plan is a super good deal.

I love HTMX. It felt like a rebirth of PJAX. Server side template rendering is simply the best. Too bad that the world insists on going nuts with JS everything. Oh as a plus, AI agents are a lot more productive when dealing with server side

I don’t understand why so many engineers have tendencies to dedupe code. Data, which is more important than code imho, are constantly duplicated all the time. Why can’t code have some duplication?

Can’t wait for AI Slack plugins to replace all low tier middle managers. You can achieve so much transparency since the data is already out there anyway. There has to be a better way to organize how ICs communicate. More productivity to unl
