I don't think it's simple. I find lifetimes especially challenging. I love rust, but sometimes I am remarkably unproductive in it because the compiler is so strict. Honestly, sometimes I think I need flash cards for memorizing how

sometimes I think I should time block so I could make guaranteed progress on certain projects... the problem is that much of my day is spent working on tasks that are impossible to estimate the duration of. example: fixing a bug. it could t

I used to be pretty bad too... I think it took me about 5 years to get to decent... and probably 5 more to get to damn good. A lot of software is about having the right mental models... for me the book that helped was Steven's Advanced

I think the problem is that these AI solutions should integrate at a lower level. Instead of a giant brain that does everything (and screws it up), just give people ML based tools... and let people hook them up and decide what they need.

Let me try to explain another way. Lets say your brain had 10 neurons... Well, then you certainly could understand it. What if it had 1000? Sure... You could probably handle that. Ok, but the human brain has 100 billion neurons. Where are y

Do you know how your brain works? I mean, in detail. No you do not, and you cannot. Nothing can truly understand itself. Even if the brain is composed of higher level "computation units" and you can understand how those units are

Yawn. The story again and again with AI is that it's advances cease being AI as soon as they are real... We are already living in an AI world.
