No as it was pursued before it. There are not yet any enforcement or complaint i know targeting the CLOUD Act because everyone agree it would be unenforceable right now. Try to have an EU tech scene without Microsoft, Azure, Google, Google

Let's imagine a situation. I live in the middle of nowhere in france. I have dependents, so cannot move easily. I do not fit the pattern expected by most company in term of expectations for my career and skillset. But i have all the qu

Transaction failing does not mean dataloss. If you think it is, you do not understand what graceful recovery means. Graceful recovery means that something handle that failure after these transactions failed. There is no data loss. They may

This was written to talk to people already in the community, as a way to explain the current situation. It was not targeted at external people that discovers it. We do have multiple other places for that if you are interested though :)

It depends what you do. If all you want is http requests and assets, no js needed. Being html or api. If you want to handle a websocket and have a 2 way bindings, then no way around it. But that is not phoenix fault. It is the reality of th

Parsing but also casting to string efficiently is still an open problem with regular breakthrough. Ryu or Dragonbox for float to string come to mind. Parsing with errors that are useful for the human is definitely an open research topic. Ca

you realise floats are far easier because in any case you are limited to 64 bits and you know that?

Funnily enough... It is really hard if not impossible to optimise when everything is bignum.

No. What makes it "slow" is fundamentally that 1. Everything is bignum. 2. That any operation can be yielded. It makes it really hard to optimise things that could be sped up by fusing operations.

In my experience it is even harder in a typed one because now you have to deal with the type system nightmare they built. So the compiler fight your refactoring.

Re auto probing: it exists but usually not at your level because you rarely need that precision for the work you do. On top of this, it gets far more expensive because the levelling mechanism end up having a precision cost too. Also let say

The problem is that the slower it is the more the window for error grows. And the harder it is to recover. It also impose a high boundary to latency. You cannot be faster than your clock error without risks. Note that even Spanner had multi
