Those sites are useless on desktop too. I usually just leave if element blocking isn't simple enough. Your story isnt important enough to deal with God awful UX.

Not sure why this was downvoted. It was a serious question. The countries I've lived all have digital ID services since a decade ago. And no I'm not talking about govt ID or a card. I'm talking about a digital identity you lo

For usability, "don't make me think" is gospel. https://www.amazon.com.au/Dont-Make-Think-Revisited-Usabilit... For design itself I'm just not that way inclined and use existing frameworks instead.

The no else statement shit drives me up the wall. Sometimes code is more readable when it says what you mean. Sometimes I want to branch, other times I want to return early. There is a difference in what I mean and code should reflect that

I understand this but just basic code hygiene of null checking at boundaries and edges makes this a non issue. You shouldn't be setting nullable variables to null so far away from where they're used that they're a problem. E.

> For one, what does "unset" mean? Does it equal false, because it wasn't enabled? What's the default? This is a common strawman used to advise against null. Null only means one thing. Null. It doesn't convey any

I've yet to see a good reason for webassembly in the wild. Is anyone using it in production for anything substantial? We have a couple of uses of it but I'm still not convinced it was worth the trade offs and felt mor like someone

Wasn't most of Google and eBay written in C/C++? Most of the webs applications were written in C/C++ pre PHP days.

Of course its arbitrary, but you gotta pick something. We optimise for progression. Failing a sprint doesn't actually have any real ramifications. What we use failure for is a signal to indicate problems. Missed? I guess we have some t

Like I said, regulators stepping in is an overstep for the reason you're stating. It's a free market, they built a better mouse trap. But at this point, USBC is the better mousetrap, they're now just using their market domina

I said monopolistic not monopoly. To say apple is a monopoly would be incorrect. To describe their behavior with service, repair, the app store, and lightening cable fees as anything other than monopolistic would be intellectually dishonest

Apples racketeering and monopolistic behavior? I think this is a step over the line for regulators but so is apples behavior for the last decade or two when it comes to repairability. Fuck em.

There isn't that much water on earth, this image does an amazing job of explaing the scale in the quickest way. It also sort of explains how easy it would be for earth's water to have come from asteroid impacts. https://
