Piper is also dead, though it's also still the best option for local TTS on low-spec devices. Kokoro is probably best local TTS overall if your target platform and hardware support it.

I dunno, all the home users I know use Resolve. It's pretty easy to learn Resolve, with their tutorials you can go from "never edited a video" to "able to edit a simple short film" in about a day.

The issue is not software. It's that on consumer motherboards you can push more data in practice over Wifi than USB.
