You could argue that Facebook isn't operating in a socially accepted framework either, and that this act is a reaction to their assaults. Not to belittle this crime, of course.

Children do have rights. And the parent is waiving their children's rights by putting them in garbage public school.

I disagree with the surveillance bit, but yes parents can be pretty ignorant of their kid's behaviour outside of home.

This was being praised on NPR recently. The young host was ecstatically talking about how the CEO of some company says "we kinda gave up our rights to privacy with the digital age", and that these surveillance measures are able to

It was on Morning Edition on OPB radio at around 7:45-8:10PT (Oregon Public Broadcasting, essentially a glove for NPR's hand). I wish I remembered more about the context.

Are you really advocating that we raise taxes with the intention of driving people away? I find that mentality vehemently disgusting. The government is expensive and wasteful, acts in bad faith, disrespects our rights, and steals from us ev

Not single employer in general, single employer in a person's field. That's not an unreasonable concern when a person's field is tech related, and we're talking about less populated areas.

Maybe you don't realize this but there's a homelessness crisis happening right now, partially due to massive gentrification brought on by successful tech companies. You shouldn't pretend that there aren't negative side-e

You make a really great point, and I myself have been victim of losing a tech job that brought me two-thousand miles from home. Thankfully my company gave me a large enough severance to move myself and my belongings back to my home state.

Here's a solution: have tech companies settle in other regions. I know the benefits for being in the bay are substantial, but this problem is entirely brought about by tech companies, not the resident. Employers need to setup shop in l
