I've been working through a beginner Blender tutorial on YouTube; something I've wanted to do for a while but never made time for. Having a lot of fun with it so far!

You could easily wind up with an infinite loop without hooks (for example, by calling `setState` in `componentDidUpdate`).

Agree, "More Stuff to Learn" isn't really a critique of hooks, it's a critique of learning .

It doesn't just affect them. People who would otherwise not have been infected will likely contract the virus (and possibly due) due to increased community spread from those who do not respect public health guidelines.

Another fun bit of trivia about "Smells Like Nirvana" - when shooting the music video, they used many of the same props, actors, camera angles, and even the same sound stage as the original "Smells Like Teen Spirit" vide

Did you read the article? The argument being made (whether it's accurate or not, I have no idea) is that more people being home means shifting demand towards consumer TP and away from commercial TP, and pointing out that the supply cha

No affiliation with Zoom, but wow - the unrelenting torrent of negative coverage on HN over the last few days has been remarkable. It seems there's at least two or three negative articles on the front page at all times.

I don't disagree with you, but do you believe the figures for infections and deaths in the US? Or any country, for that matter? If so, why or why not?

Gates gave a prescient TED talk in 2015 [1] in which he describes the risk of a global pandemic and the general lack of preparedness. The Gates foundation has also been working for years to help eradicate diseases like polio and malaria [2]

This is cool, but are there any similar resources available for creating masks that are washable? Would love to have something that's reusable rather than requiring constant usage of paper towels and rubber bands.

The complacency shown in the US thus far will be extremely painful to look back on in a few weeks' time. I hope that I'm wrong, but I have little reason to think otherwise at the moment.
