You're thinking of the WRT54G (earlier firmware versions only, as later versions used VxWorks which prevented third-party firmware from being used), and finally the WRT54GL that was created specifically for OpenWRT and such (they retur

Just want to validate this... I feel the same way. PCs are faster than they've ever been and cheaper than they've ever been. I just bought a custom smoking fast computer for my parents in an awesome tiny mini-ITX case with a fast

I beg to differ. I used Redhat, Mandrake, Gentoo, Debian, and now Ubuntu and I have been happily using Ubuntu for a long time now. Unity is great. I barely need to do any configuration with it, everything just works. Under the hood it's sti

"But in the case of Android, 'open' has been hijacked and wildly contorted so as to mask the shady side of what’s really been going on." I hate when people bitch that Android isn't open. I guess it depends on your definition of "open" but w

This makes no sense. If my tax rate goes up, why would I work less? All other things considered equal, getting taxed more and working less is a double-whammy. If anything I think I would work more.

There is mention of accusations of Nestle giving away free powder for a limited time, but no specific story and Nestle denies the allegations. Why would someone accept free formula over free breast milk? No one would be dumb enough to think

The studies I have heard of talk of the benefits of skin-to-skin contact while feeding, which can easily be done with a bottle too. I'm not aware of any studies that point to any benefit of nipple vs. artificial nipple.

TL;DR This whole cry-it out vs. attachment parenting thing is bullshit. A lot of people turn it in to this huge argument as if you can only do one or the other. I can say with confidence that we do both. We practice "attachment parenting" w
