I would even go as far as to say, you don’t know something, so you look it up, and now you know the thing. Onus to remember notwithstanding, I personally feel like when I look something up I didn’t know, it tends to stick. Except for the re

> Reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) In case anyone else didn’t know the definition. Knowing the definition it sounds kind of like “learn what we tell you matters” in a sense. Not unlike how the world seems to work today.

The whole food chain is encapsulated in “the world” in this case. I don’t think your point stands.

I would be so happy if the migration went from pyqt to c++ qt. Hell, I’ll help with the conversion.

Kevin, I must be missing something. CMake can generate a makefile, and this is the usual usecase. So a new language generating a makefile is even _more_ brittle than make, if your assertion is correct.

Appreciate that. No, I glossed over the nails comment. I indeed did not get it, but like the rest of said response, most of it didn’t make sense. Thank you for the context.

Same point. Leaving a constrained environment for a less-constrained environment. If shareholders don’t like this move, they are free to move on from their position. They are owed what they own, because of their belief in future profits. If

Only if you assume that not being constrained is somehow a bad thing for shareholders, which apparently is a logical fallacy some believe true.

I wish I’d included this in my initial response: I am painfully aware of bitbake. I’ve probably written 3-400 recipes. Most of them are about 20-30 lines long, because I refused to hide the compilation mess inside a recipe. I fixed the prob

Don’t worry Phillip, ignoring the bit where it isn’t a rebuttal at all, I know I’m not a smart person. That’s why I like simple builds!

The only thing worse than a complex codebase is a complex build system. I think CMake is an abomination. “Hey go learn this new language to compile this other language!”
