I think I agree. I find it a little bit annoying that they do not start by a survey of the existing landscape, discuss the issues and what works well, and spend the effort to show that they can indeed to be trusted as the authority behind s

I understand it is the former. They basically give money to be spent on compute, meaning it goes to hyperscalers who themselves buy NVIDIA GPUs. That’s how you end up with OpenAI and Anthropic together representing more than 70% of the hype

It’s actually really cool, and not just for AI. That should make it easy to automate some processes with simple scripts. Nitpick: it’s annoying that they add Model to those acronyms, for what seems like a fairly universal software interface

I agree, just don’t lie about it. You can present it as a cute little robot pet without problems. No need to say “it expresses and feels emotions like a real cat”. The AI industry has normalized lying about your products to a whole new leve

If that’s the case the solution is to ban or very strictly regulate those AI companies having such a massive level of externalities. Like any other industry that would put the whole world economy at risk. Keeping them running and patching t

People think about policies day 0, meaning when they are implemented, and not how they evolve and degenerate over decades. UBI would obviously be used as a mechanism to discriminate and punish people the decision makers don’t like

Because they are mostly research departments (aka a lab) turned into a corp structure. It’s not a new phenomenon, just that until recently labs didn’t get $1T valuations so you see it more now
