Sure. I'm not saying that sloppy writing is a necessary condition for candor. But it's a near-sufficient one.

I'd rather see the poorly-edited version. It gives me confidence that Zuck simply said what he meant, rather than run ten different versions through focus groups to see which one would get the best reaction.

If you're a visual learner, the easiest way to understand monads might be to first understand arrows -- because arrows can be explained nicely through diagrams -- and then understand monads as a special case.

I prefer to use my cycles for good rather than evil. For example, my 8-core system is keeping me cozily warm throughout the presently-occuring snowstorm.

Needs work. The web design is clunky and restriction to a single label means the selection is not the greatest. I'll keep them in mind and check them out again down the road, but for now I'm sticking with Amazon.

Okay, apparently I didn't quite think this one through. I wasn't claiming that GHC memoizes values , but it does memoize thunks. I thought this algorithm would be getting some benefit from that, but having inserted some trace statements,

It's a dual-core machine. The par annotations get you a factor of two at best. Dons is still arguably pulling a fast one, though. Even though the Haskell program looks like it should behave in more-or-less the same way as the other two, t

Haskell is excellent for parallel processing -- probably as good as Erlang if you're just talking about multiple cores on one system and not distributed processing.

Guys, I'll tell you the same thing that I tell to people who attack Paris Hilton: lay off. If I see Steve or Alexis make a post like this, which I haven't, then I'll pay attention. For everyone else, what the hell did he ever do to you?

You ought to be able to do better. At that stage I'd consider 1% and a competitive salary, or a larger stake and living expenses, but that offer wouldn't cut it.
