I understand what's involved now. This separation of an "app" from it's service component is a step backwards. It's my belief that "software" is a service. But we will play this game for now until eventually everyone comes to their sense an

Thanks for the reply. I am interested in the issues involved in developing a phone app with monthly fees (I should of made that more clear). I will take a closer look at Pandora and see how they implemented their subscription model in thei

"Customer Development" is not the same as a having an effective "business model". I believe they should be treated differently. They will impact the product/service in differnt ways. Getting in front of (selling to) 1, 10 or even 100 custom

In solving the "right" problem more constraints were added to solving the "wrong" problem. These constraints helped in solving the wrong problem. Often constraints, self imposed or not(ie limited resources, etc..), produce innovative soluti

You should point this out to http://wealthmagazine.com . They have a service they sell, where they train you on how individuals can time the market. You take a course they offer then buy into their online tool and start timing the market

There may be value in providng knockoffs to nostalgic (iconic) items, ie giligans hat, pee wee herman's bike (is that iconic?), dorothy's dress etc..

It's good to see you have done your homework and are differentiating yourself from the competition. I like the knockoff and comprehensive strategy but "permanent" I am not so sure about. There is nothing permanent about the fashion industry

These guys are doing something similar http://www.deliveryagent.com/ . They run this site https://securesale.seenon.com/account.php and others. They are very corporate as you can see. You might be able to find areas where they fall shor

I emailed this explanation to my son, and asked him if he understood it, He will be twelve on 2/2/12. His response was "ya. it means that there is an unlimited space in between every number."

Nice app but to totally circumvent the retailer and shipping fees, they should invest in quantum teleportation technology.

It was a rhetorical question. I did build it as I explained. I turned the idea into a 'spec'. A very detailed 'spec'. The point is that you do not need to be a programmer to start "building' the idea. And yes the spec has been converted in

We are moving out of rightscale and are considering http://ylastic.com/ for server management. They seem to be offering the same service for less. Or am I missing something? (update) I see that cloudclick spans more cloud offerings. That

Not sure having one mobile provider will result in a reduction of price. It's free now but you will pay later.

The marginal cost for storing a unit of data must be close to zero after the initial storage space is consumed. Or am I missing something? If that is true then why do the monthly costs not go down, assuming that the same amount of data is s

I agree the marginal improvement may not be worth the effort. The web application I alluded to would offer this "content valuing" service to a community. It's actually on our wish list and not the main value-add of the offering

That is a valid point. The minority view however does have value, and at times adds the most value to the discussion. When the minority view is treated in the same way the troll-post is then I believe the community suffers.

There must be a better way to asses the "value" of content. I agree that the down vote is arguably a good gauge for how the community at large "feels" about the content but not a good indicator for "value". There are two metrics here tha

Let me clarify my initial comment. The author critiques the notion that the God of the Bible created a "natural world" in which there are mutations and other observed travesties. One would expect, as the author points out, that a world cre

It's a money make. We needed some python work done. It was a small project 42 hours 6 hours was unit testing. Unit testing increased the invoice by almost 17%. I can see why consultants like it.
