I can’t tell you why. I just see a correlation. Age group up to nine. I’ll add: it’s especially notable in ability to focus and communicate. This is my take knowing and coaching many of these kids in youth sports.

Not all screen time is equal. Though, all screen time may have negative consequences. My third grade son spends time daily on typing and Khan Academy (iMac). He spends an additional few minutes reading about sports (public school issued iPa

Perhaps there is no merit. And, if the trial is unfair, I’m sure it will move to a higher level on appeal. I think this is a good exercise of the judicial branches of our state and federal government. We the people win in the end.

Tellingly, your comment offers no value judgement on the contents of the suit. This case is worth watching, IMO, as it’s 1) a judgement on whether there was journalistic malpractice (is the suit valid?) and 2) an investigation into the fina

Two amazing things: 1. these photos have been traveling for 13.5 billion years, just to meet their fate smashing into the JWST. 2. how many photons must have been emitted, that a sphere 13.5 billion light years in radius can still resolve t

Cute bulb and effect. I like that your dark mode isn’t so harsh, as well. I feel they’re often max contrast, which is the last thing my eyes want to see. This is more of a … solarized?

Nope. I enjoy reading the official docs for languages like Python (narrative or API). For Java I'm fine reading signatures; it's OK. I've not found a lot of good docs in that language, TBH. Even TypeScript can be alright, tho

I consider myself quite proficient on the command line; intermediate would be fair to say. However, I just can’t really parse man pages. I’ve never sat down and just figured out the numbering scheme and how to efficiently read/parse th

Just adding to the already rich discussion an anecdote about stop signs preceeding a round-about: worst of both worlds. Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/bayarea/comments/10pihgk/roundabout...

Not an interesting take. You want to benefit off the work of others, and bear zero cost. What if you just built those libraries yourself, or paid someone else to do it for you? And on language creation and development, why should we stop ex

Well, here in the Bay Area, baseball and soccer are about $250 each per season (equip not included). So just 1 a season (fall/spring) would run you $500 at Little League and rec (soccer). Now, having coached a number of seasons, and ha

Ok. So you don’t like single line node modules. I don’t think I’ve ever used one. Maybe as a transient dependency, though. But a function could be written in multiple ways, and I’m not sure we actually mean “single line” here. You’re referr
