I would imagine because there are many UI features that cannot be easily reproduced in the terminal and maintaining two different interfaces with very different capabilities is more trouble than it's worth.

I agree, I am having trouble thinking of a situation where specific line break positions would be important to me in regular text that isn't covered by some other markdown structure such as code blocks or lists.

Vim is not the ultimate tool. It is a very efficient and powerful text editor but I would say it is not a replacement for an IDE. However to me the problem with most IDES is the I part. You're stuck with their text editor, their build syste

It would be neat if it could follow a line drawn on the board, eliminating need for a digital version of the design and the calibration stickers.
