One is able to chain calls in C via: x()->g()->f(); At least one person at Bell Labs historically used that scheme for some graphics program. All it requires is that the function returns a pointer to a struct which itself con

Also from my experience, 2G feature phones have better battery characteristics, longer standby time. I've a 4G feature phone, and even when only its 2G modem is enabled, it doesn't last as long as the prior 2G phone did. When the

I've been playing with it hacking a compiler written in C++ to be sort of transliterated to D. Just to see if it then makes the compiler easier to read, while not worrying about the performance yet. So far in converting the lexer it d

We had coal fires, and no central heating when I was a young child. So we had two (steel) dustbins, and the dust-men would empty them. I can't remember if the bin wagon had a different name, I shall have to ask my parents.

It is the nature of the UK Parliamentary system, that when the party in power has a large majority, it is essentially an elective dictatorship. Then 5 years later we may get a different dictator. This is a well known issue with the system.

The impression I get from simply reading these various discussions, is that some folks are not convinced that the pain from accepting Rust is worth the gain. Possibly also that a significant portion of the suggested gain may be achievable v

Sorry, but your response seems to be about consistency, or "purity" at some level. While what Go has may be inconsistent, what functional impact does that have? I can't see a need for 'de-structuring' as such, absen

It does seem an unnecessarily limiting convention. What will go wrong if one stores a Context in a struct? I've done so for a specific use case, and did not notice any issues.

I'd have to argue the function typedefs are not useless, I've come across two uses. The obvious one is rather than a function pointer typedef, such the subsequent use in a struct is obviously a pointer. Which helps when others are
