I really have a hard time seeing semantic HTML catching on outside of big business where it’s audited and required for purchases. First modern CSS destroyed semantic styling. Selectors are written using mostly class names and there is not c

Software comes in two flavors, platform and end user. Platform software is usually free and only monetized via service contracts. Platform software is rarely used directly and instead is used to build other software. End user software is ei

My younger siblings had this and I had it for one summer before I left home. It really sucked. Maybe it would be better if the parent and living conditions were equal, but that was not the case. So one week you have a nice bed and your own

Living with my girlfriend really opened my eyes to how many clothes women go through. She even tries to be responsible about it and sell items to second hand markets, but I still think it’s a bit crazy. - Women’s fashion cycles much faster

How long before all these CSS tricks come together to make a easily abusable injection mechanism? I know the `url()` mechanism is already abusable, but what about a small VM executed via `var` and `calc`?

Aren't emojis supposed to replace words, kind of like abbreviations? What's the point of having a word and an emoji that mean the same thing right next to each other? I would never write, "want a hamburger :hamburger:?"

I think a lot of the high functioning people who use THC could probably be even better without it. But what THC does is quiet a negative inner voice that prevents them from focusing and/or causes them to procrastinate. So the overall e

I see that now, seems like the site should list out the variables that it uses, and which is used for each element. It mentions `accent` for links, but seems like a handful are defined.

I often wonder if we need a modern, secular, monastic system. There will always be a percentage of the population who are unwilling to marry or would not make good partners no matter the economic incentive. Single and divorced men are often

Anything that cares about really small timescales would have issues. UTC and TAI seconds, microseconds, and nanoseconds are always the same length. UTC has leap seconds to account for the change in rotation of the Earth. TAI just doesn'

Computers usually report time in UTC but don't actually have leap seconds. Most computers are pretty bad at keeping time, and regularly sync to NTP servers for the current time. NTP servers generally have better time keeping hardware (

Without actually seeing the work, it's hard to give specific feedback. Design is an iterative process. Designers are never going to hand you a great looking product on the first time around. Also I find there is a sort of meta iteratio
