It always shocks me developers complain so much about QT licensing. For any other business, an expense that small for so much value seems trivial. Without a decent UI software is a terrible for experience for most users.

Slay the spire is built using libGDX which provides a lot of cross platform support on top of Java. For platforms like Switch without JVM support it probably ships a compiled version without JIT.

I wasn’t aware they preferred type II errors. That makes sense, but I don’t really expect tools like that to work across modules.

This graph [1] from this thread [2] I find most interesting. Why was the FSD miles per day so constant for so long? There was almost no variation for four months soon after a beta roll out? I'm more concerned by that than a line graph

Usually a lot of effort is put into building and tuning procedural generators. They are often game specific. Using a generic AI to generate assets and replace artists is a bit different.

In my experience, Solutions Architects are on the services side, while Architect (no modifier) are on the engineering side. Solutions Architects put together customer specific solutions from a suite of technologies, while Architects are res

Yeah this is the kind of thing testing is useful for. Writing tests against invariants is a great idea. That way if the invariant changes, the test starts to fail.

Funny, because I find Python much more readable than Ruby in most cases. The metaprogramming in Ruby has always struck me of bikeshedding novel programming idioms instead of focusing on simplicity. But that’s just my own opinion.

Both sides are mostly rich or put there by the rich. A few populist reps get outsized airtime, but that isn’t the majority of people running the show.

There has to be some programmer rite of passage involving learning lambda calculus. I went through this a few years ago when something similar was posted. I learned the notation, marveled at its dual simplicity and completeness, and and did

Would love to have an article that actually talks about the project, and not devolve into a generic anti-Elon piece. Personally, I am not a fan, but feeding into the cult of personality with negative energy still feeds the cult.

I could see a different given name, but a different surname? Won't that throw up some red flags once HR starts on boarding you? Or what about referrals, gotta make sure to coordinate with them.

This plus the native modal element, <dialog>, really reduces the need even further for javascript on basic websites. I'm really looking forward to the day when bootstrap-level functionality is implementable via html/css only

I always assume embezzlers are just people who have higher tolerance for boundary pushing. Exploring boundaries is a primal urge. Kids learn to do it at a young age. If you have ever trained an animal, you know they do it also. To me, embez

You can set up a home lab, in many places it is legal if you spend the money to set up a proper lab and register with local regulators. But chemistry is very dangerous. You have to properly dispose of waste. Many precursors to drugs are poi

This seems really common to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if there are shops specifically aimed at doing this. I have followed a few indie games where this has happened. Its seems really risky to do a PC only release now, because

I am actually surprised libGDX is still getting updates. I used it around 2015 for some game jams, but already the community activity was waning. Seems like development activity picked up post pandemic.

Maybe they reposted it? But there is a June 9, 2014 timestamp at the top of the article. Also the timeline clearly doesn't make sense. The trial occurred in in 1995. That was 29 years ago.

Many times these hospitals also lack specialists. Some of my relatives will drive an extra hour to a bigger city, even though they live 10minutes from a hospital, because the doctors there don’t have the same specialities.
