Absolutely shameful that WikiLeaks would choose to publish stolen, private correspondence, and frankly I'm surprised and disappointed there are people in the HN community that don't seem have an issue with it. Even if you supporte

Looking at the cap table (to the extent it's visible in the S-1) it appears that the big winners are the investors: Breyer, USV, Accel, Tiger Global, and Index add up to 92.3% ownership of the company. [Edit, 65%] Or am I totally readi

That's awesome. And I think it scales for just long enough, too. I don't think hiring real, intelligent humans to make on-the-fly shopping decisions like this (think, an old-school concierge desk at hotel) costs more than the incr

Oh come on, that first sentence is uncalled for. Cromwellian (while awesome, and someone who never fails to impress me with his writing) is not speaking for Google, or even other Googlers. He is speaking for himself. As is his right, I'

This isn't my area of ownership, (and I actually agree with a number of things you said), but as far as I know it is exactly why Google goes out of its way to NOT retain those logs, and to explicitly NOT serve this traffic off of a dom

There's a chance that the audience here hasn't yet seen http://forecast.io or the Dark Sky app. This is a shame. They are radically better weather experiences than any you've seen before. Go check them out now.

Everything you said is true, of course, but I think it applies more generally to inexperienced startups with first-time technical founders, or larger corporations with a "B" technical staff. In this case, you're talking about
