> Locking it to Ollama is stupid. If you don’t like this free and open source software that was shared it’s luckily possible to change it yourself…or if it’s not supporting your favorite option you can also just ignore it. No need to cal

This seems like it would only work if “reviews” would be something rare to come by. Like some forums where you have to contribute to be able to download attachments, or see higher level subforums. But reviews are everywhere, good ones too s

I’m working on supporting photo posts on my blog (Kirby), I bought a new camera and thought it would be nice to share them in one place (Cross post to Mastodon). I’m still looking for a new SaaS idea, so if you have something you want to pa

You still host the database yourself, clients don’t lose their database.

The hosting isn’t important, it’s easy to move or have an offline copy already. The access to fundraising is much more important and more complicated.

I'm not sure what it was called but the "web clipping" Widget was always my favorite. It worked really well to just have a always updated time table from your school in the dashboard just by basically taking a screenshot of i

Did you get burned by a company contributing to an open source project before or what makes you so cynical about this PR? I feel like it's the ideal scenario that a company actually dedicates engineers and time to contribute to an open

I'll leave this decision to the Godot maintainers but as an outside that only read the PR and comments it seems plausible that it's also in Apples favor to fix issues in the shared iOS / visionOS codebase that they are using,

Niche platform from one of the biggest companies on the planet isn’t as niche as others though. If there’s a way to get first party support from the vendor directly it could be beneficial to the other platforms too (iOS).

That’s not what they are saying. They are saying that the system where you have to declare everything manually is annoying (which it is), ideally it would record the changes while you make changes and then deduplicate them, remove unnecessa

"You're on a tech forum", that's exactly the point. The "average user" is not on a tech forum though, the average user opens the app store of their platform, types "calculator" and installs the first

The average user is also not reading these raised “alarms”. And if an app has a bad name, another one will show up with a different name on the same day.

Similar experience for me (As an Austrian) often hiking in Hong Kong where everyone (old and young) walks with tiny speakers dangling from their backpack blasting music during the whole hike. I never even thought people would consider that.

That’s because you are maybe not in the market for MarkMonitor. If you check the whois for any global brands chances are they are held by MarkMonitor. Just like you don’t use EY as your tax advisor.

I wish ArchiveBox had such a feature where you can archive “private” and logged in pages. I often had the case where I then realized I only archived some login page.
