That you enjoyed it more when it didn't have a "native" image integration is probably unrelated to that fact but just that the site changed in a lot of other ways. How does the hostname where the image gets loaded from matter

I know a bunch of sites who do that and the problem is usually that register emails get flagged by outlook and never arrive, causing a lot of support burden. Easier to then nudge people into the direction of Gmail or other providers that do

You can both write hacky projects in your free time and write good, well-tested code in your professional life. It’s not that deep.

You can program just for fun, without having to make it a professional project. Just like you can do some woodworking without having the goal of becoming a professional carpenter.

I always appreciate more iTunes / Music.app competitors but personally I don't like the look of Minimoon. It looks more like a Windows app and not really like a native macOS app, especially with the sidebar.

There’s a reason library based players were invented and that’s that you don’t need to batch rename files, or tag a file 3 times if it’s part of 3 different playlists.

Reading this I expected the README to be unreadable, filled with images and emojis, but found them to be very detailed with lots of code examples (Which I often miss in Gems) and explanations which was obviously a lot of work to do. Thanks

Academically it might be correct, but shipping real features will in most cases be more important than hitting some text book definition of correctness.

The technical details are often not the tricky part of new features. You have to integrate it into the existing app that people know and use, explain how it works, maintain it forever etc.

On top of that “It would be so easy” is almost never true for a billion users network with all kinds of edge cases. Seems like a very narrow use case when there’s things missing from iMessage that could be way more appealing for a bigger gr

Shouldn't the trucks be more used for "last mile" operations from the cargo trains vs going very long distances and needing to go very fast? Seems like that would be the more appropriate solution.

I’d guess that the overlap of people who email themselves files also use Gmail…which would then also just have Google Drive. Why not use that?

What is the selling point over the very mature Syncthing? I’ve been using that for this use case for many years, with the additional benefit of also being able to sync it to my server, having a UI and being in all package managers already.
