Something like https://dev.yorhel.nl/ncdu with ("brew install ncdu") is great if you are okay with the command line. It's very annoying to drill down in the Finder especially if it's hidden directories.

Don't run "du -h ~/Library/Messages" then, I've mentioned that many times before and it's crazy to me to think that Apple is just using up 100GB on my machine, just because I enable iMessage syncing and do

https://github.com/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx might be a nice rabbit hole for you, drop the files in there and it'll be OCR'ed and searchable. There's also some AI projects you can give access to paperl

That's fair, but in my experience for many people the camera and/or battery are the main reasons to upgrade to a new phone (Also the reason why the presentations focus on the camera for a big chunk of time usually I'd guess)

That the copyright notice on their site still says "2025" probably says a lot. I was kinda expecting to find an AI pivot when I opened that landing page.

I bought it via https://libro.fm/audiobooks/9798217163595-the-future-of-trut... , I could select a local participating bookstore there and it went through them somehow. I choose them because it was DRM free.

If you are thinking about reading that book, consider the audio book that's read by Werner Herzog himself. I really enjoyed that one, not necessarily because I agree with everything but because I enjoy listening to his voice.

Yea, I'm not blaming anyone for not providing one (Especially as you have to pay the developer fee if you don't already have an account for other reasons) so it was a pleasant surprise! While I have our attention: Is there any pla

The author is known for deep dives on data sets like that (I'm following him on Linkedin for that), so makes sense they always mention their setup even if it doesn't apply to his specific data set.

Can you point out some existing ones with traction? I'm looking more at the list of people who are on board with it ("Trusted by open source creators" section) than who is actually running it, which I think is more important

That's not what vendor lock in means. If you sign up for a cloud hoster and then build your whole product on propriety services that you can't get anywhere else instead of using an off the shelf database or open source software, t
