They're using a coating on the inside of the glass. DAKD Jung has posted about this. I'd be curious to know how similar Hulten and DAKD Jung's formulations are. It was made to sound rather involved when I read DAKD Jung'

Agreed. I am curious how good Hulténs’ visualizers are. IIRC there was a good deal of engineering that went into Dakd Jung’s to make it stand the test of time and plenty of experiments on audio response across genres. Specifically, I recall

In addition to AMA artificially limiting number of docs coming out of school, teaching hospitals prefer to take on specialists, since they get paid more for specialists than GPs. As a result, in the US specialists represent ~70% of doctors

I listened to like a dozen of the examples on riffusion and they all sound like junk. It's kind of like the hands being messed up on generated images, except the "messed up hands" stream through every part of each track.

As a young kid I remember my dad in an AOL chat room chatting with Kai. We had KPT Bryce, Kai's Power Goo, etc. I loved those programs, but KPT Bryce is probably what I spent the most time with. I would just sit and stare at the antial

In cases where it's being used to clean up grammar, perhaps the new standard should be providing a diff between the original paper and the cleaned up version.

Ah yes, but that would require actual effort, and in the end is only going to serve to improve someone else’s model.

Rich gave a talk on this, and there is an associated HN thread for the talk, but some of you may be interested in the original transducers presentation. You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mTbuzafcII

It takes like 2-3 experiences of receiving a confidently wrong answer to downgrade your usage. If you use a refactoring tool to rename and it misses one, you won’t use it again.

I wrote some code to run on the office computer that we used to stream music from. At a random time every 24-48 hours, it would turn its volume up and say “I love you” using the Mac OS whisper voice.

I think there’s kind of a delicate mix. When I practice analysis can be a good tool for idea generation, but I only have so much CPU and it leads to boring playing.
