Not sure why you took a downvote. I think it is plain to see that we are unlikely to have free and fair elections in 2028, possibly even the next cycle.

Wishing people off the island like this is so foolish. There are a lot of scientists who will be leaving the US due to funding cuts, and the result for you is decidedly worse, not better.

They've fired the people responsible for combating foreign interference operations (CISA), have positioned the FBI and DOJ to investigate political adversaries, and have set up the military to follow unlawful orders. Buckle up. I will

I can assure you that a great number of the people who disagree with you don't just "hate Musk" or have Trump derangement syndrome or something. This assumption that people only disagree with you for bad faith reasons or aren

I have wondered about it as well. I worry that I'll get a few results that are slightly outside of normal range and then sit around wondering if I'm dying, which seems like more stress than it's worth.

There used to be a page of Doug McIlroy "facts". I managed to hunt this page down by searching around. http://git.9front.org/plan9front/plan9front/c28f07b5840216c4... One of the "facts" is: >

A couple of things: 1. This idea that "you can't tell if you mindlessly scroll past it" isn't a very good measurement. 2. Given IG is slowly filling up with AI slop, I actually do spend a decent amount of time going &quo

I think maybe it is intended as a critique of systems where the individual parts don't compose or scale particularly well, where it feels sort of hollow to call it a "system" because of how uncoordinated and inefficient it is
